The '69 Strat represents a pivotal time for both music and Fender guitars. Its large headstock and round-lam fingerboard took us from Woodstock into a new era. Fender Custom Shop 1966 Stratocaster Firemist Silver Metallic Closet Classic LTD
- Direct from a closet somewhere in Surf City.
This Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Stratocaster has been produced in a limited run of 200 by a team of skilled luthiers in Fender's Custom Shop. It is true to the specs and style features of the 1966 including the large headstock and C-shaped neck profile, and it features a silvery nitrocellulose lacquer finish and a 3-ply parchment pickguard.
It has 3 1965 Custom single-coil pickups with the middle pickup reverse wound to cancel hum in switch positions 2 and 4. Other features include Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuners, the wing string tree, and an American Vintage synchronized tremolo.
It has been given the Closet Classic treatment--the look of a guitar made in 1966, played a little, then put away in a closet until now. It has a few dings, a mildly checked finish, lightly oxidized hardware, aged plastic parts, and it plays with a broken-in feel. Its Custom Shop crafting, Closet Classic treatment, and its firemist finish make it a special Strat among Strats. Includes a black deluxe Fender case, strap, cable, and a Limited Edition Certificate.

Fender Mary Kaye Tribute Stratocaster Closet Classic LTD
- A Master-built Limited Edition from the Fender Custom Shop.
The Custom Shop has re-created the 1956 Stratocaster that become known informally as the Mary Kaye Strat, after the leader of The Mary Kaye Trio, a group that performed regularly in Las Vegas during the mid-fifties. The guitar features the Closet Classic treatment. This gives it the look of a guitar made in the '50s, played a little, and then put away to age gracefully in the case with a few small dings, mildly checked finish, lightly oxidized hardware, and aged plastic parts. It features a premium ash body with a thin white blonde nitrocellulose lacquer finish, a one-piece maple neck, and elegant gold hardware. Its custom pickups are handwound by Fender's longtime pickup winder Abigail Ybarra, and each guitar features a limited edition neck plate. Includes a blonde limited edition hardshell case, strap, cable, a special certificate signed by Mary Kaye, and a DVD interview with her.

Fender Time Machine '66 Stratocaster Closet Classic

You'll feel like you've traveled decades back in time when you pick up the '66 Strat Closet Classic. This Custom Shop creation is an exact reproduction of the original, made using the same tools and techniques, and precisely duplicating the original specs: the nitrocellulose lacquer over urethane finish, the large headstock with the '66 logo style, and even the original's wing string tree. It sports vintage tuners, the F neck plate, and the C neck shape of the period. Even the pickups are exact duplicates of the '66 versions. Select alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. It has been given the Closet Classic treatment to look like a guitar that was played a little, then put away until now. Its finish is lightly checked, the hardware oxidized a little, and the plastic parts yellowed somewhat with age. Includes a black hardshell deluxe case, strap, and cable.
